I dont want to turn this into a max vs. argo debate, but did one brand seem to be better than the other in your experience? I know a lot has to do with tires and driver ability but I just thought I would ask. From the videos you guys posted it seemed that if one could go through the other could. Thanks for taking the time to film and post these videos. I really enjoy watching them.

I've always like the looks of argos but man those max IVs look mean with those tires.

      Roadtorque,

At Mud Creek that day,,MightymaxIV,s machine performed better in all conditions when compared to Lee,s Argo Frontier with Mud Bug tires ,and my MaxIV with Gator tires on it. MightymaxIV,s machine had an inch and an eigth wheel spacers , so this gave his wide ASX tires an even better advantage in the deep atv rutts. His ASX tires also pulled twice as good through the mud too. When I drove his Max IV though some deep, thick mud, it pulled a lot harder than my Max IV with Gator tires on it. Even Lee, who drove the Frontier, ,said that the ASX tires were now the best over all mud and water tire for the conditions that we like to drive in.

Thanks Mudbug3. This type of info is critical to me as I have not yet purchased an AATV. I have read a lot of "max vs argo" threads and this is the conclusion I have come to (having never driven an AATV). Both are awesome machines that are loads of fun to operate. Argo's are built a little more heavy duty than a max. A max has a better transmission than the argo. When it comes down to it you cant go wrong with either machine. Assuming your machine isn't underpowered then tire/driver skill plays the biggest part of machine performance and where it can or can't go.

It seems like those ASX tires are the way to go. Since I've put them on my Hustler 980 BIGFOOT I've been able to take my Hustler anywhere I wanted without fear of getting stuck, even deep snow. These tires will grab and pull you over anything in your way......the machine would flip over before these tires loose traction.

Too bad these tires seem so hard to get. They definitally sound like the way to go.

I had to buy 1 tire from four different places. Then I had to get two barely used ones on the other side of the US from a guy just to make up Jennifer's set. However, the good news is that the plant manufacturing these will be online next month and after speaking with Interco this past week they said they would have them back in stock in 8 weeks (now 7 weeks). So if you can wait then they will be available again soon.
