The Hustler and 5 both performed great all weekend long, save for a couple bearings on the 'Tank that decided to wrestle themselves out of the bearing flanges (oh, and running out of gas in the 980.... whatta dummy....)

Busco seemed pretty dry this fall, compared to the float-fest we had during the spring ride. Nevertheless, the mud was just about everywhere, and proved to be quite a bit more challenging. I tried to do a mental tally of how many times my machines had to be yanked from the mud. I lost count at about 9.

Thursday was a bit of a waste for me, as I got stung in the lip around lunch time and it swelled up pretty bad. After four benadryl, I went nighty-night for a while, and didn't wake up until the 'Racer family rolled in around 12 or 1 am.

Thanks to everyone for all the delicious food, and all the great times as usual. I hope to bring at least one different machine for the spring ride, but who knows what I'll be able to get done. The winter's long and cold up here. Plenty of opportunity to get something done.

    EDIT::

I will see your melted face picture, and raise you a bee sting to the face picture.

And I got stung in the neck on the drive home......bad luck with bees dude. Ughhh!

    • The aftermath of Buscoe Beach.....

Had a great time riding with everyone and look forward to the April ride. Also if possible could someone confirm that weekend in April because we have four work schedules we need to figure out as soon as possible. Thanks!

        • We are not sure because when we asked at buscoe they said to look on here and see when it was last year, which we can do but my wife needs to make vacation plans with her mother for the week before or after the april ride and she needs to book the hotel. I would not want her to book and then find out it can not happen.

The Spring 2011 Busco was April 15-17. Next year, (roughly) those same dates fall on April 13-15 (Friday through Sunday). I'm not claiming that we should stick to these dates for the Spring ride in 2012, but mid April certainly was a nice, warm and WET time of year last year.

            • Busco Beach video mud question

Why does it seam like most Max IV or bigger 6x6 get stuck in mud holes watching the Buscoe video
Is it more weight or less ground clearence?
              Just a question?
As I plan to go mudding with my Max II when I get it back together.

              • The answer is simple. They were the ones who thought they could make it threw, or at least wanted to see if they could get stuck. When i saw a machine with 25 inch tires getting hung up making rutts, there was no point in me trying it with my attex. Getting stuck would have been garanteed with my little 21 inch tires.

                • Well finally got this slide show together. Great week end. Working on a video or two now.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

                  • Fantastic slide show Lewis. I did so much riding and I realized that I don't think we were ever in the same group all weekend. What a huge turn out this time!!!

Wish I had been there. These pictures and videos everyone's putting up are almost as good.

                      • Drew, you would be surprised. there is a lot of stuff I struggle with in the Bigfoot, that the Wild wolf walks right through.

Every mud hole is different, and every time we ride Busco, conditions are different. This trip the Max II's were really capable. back in the spring, the bigger tires seemed to be king.

we also tend to take more pics and video of someone when they are stuck

                          • Lewis, those were some great pictures!

For the ride date, it would normally be the weekend of the 14th like hydromike mentioned but there may be some other factors influencing the date this time so we have to wait a couple of months to find out. I will hopefully find out by the end of December or beginning of January at the latest. I will keep you posted.

Because it's all about muddy fun. Sometimes you make it, sometimes you don't. If it was about survival, like getting away from bees, you'd take a much faster, different route. I think all you guys AND ladies were absolutely awesome.

                                Lewis, great slideshow.
