Yes, i actually did. It is super motivating to see the video where slim climbs up out of the river bed up a draw and THROWS two rooster tails with plastic tracks. Also, when the top is off of slim's argo and he is fishing, he goes flying by. Also, when he is stopped at 55 seconds, and hits the gas and everyone's heads fip back..... yah WAY cool. I have known for a while that the old 80s 16 hp Techumse had limited days. Before i saw slims thread last year, i wanted an exterior source for electrical power, meaning an alternator, and fuel injection. I didn't know what was available, but after researching small car engines, the suzuki G-10 is the obvous choice. Truth be told, if i had found a 4 cylinder 1.3 Litre G-13 first i would have put that in just for fun.

How ever, cfherrman, it was a good thing you linked the 99 conquest with the G-10 engine in it to this thread. It will show people what the machines look like in action! Again, thank you it was an over site on my part. Feel free one and all to link up anything you think may help! Also awsome idea with the heater core, "but it would be more cost efficient to go down to a radiator shop and have them use the radiator out of the Geo, they can make it to your dimensions" (got that from Slimpickins)

Absolutly, i already know where an 84 is in a junk yard. They built more power than the newer ones. If your going to be in fairbanks any time soon, or anyone else is, pm me and ill let you know where it is. As much as a pain as it has been, i think a running one would be the way to go, but you should perform a tune up at any rate i think. That is essentily what i had to do to get it running. I am kind of annoyed at how loud the fuel pump is. It is more noisy than the engine!

The ECM/PCM is gold colored and has to be disconnected to drag the wiring harness though the fire wall

IT RUNS on a stand alone system!

Mission accomplished. Runs like a champ. KInd of sad it only takes 3 wires to a battery and one more to start the starter. Kind of spookey how simple it is!

now to pull it.... that should be fun!

Nice work on figuring out the wiring!! When I did my conversion, I didn't try to figure out how the wiring worked.. I just tied it all together, used the original key harness for starting and rolled the rest up into a little ball and zippyed it away under the body. :P Could have saved myself some pounds :P

Apreciate the support you guys! IT was scarey as heck jumping those wires. If it went wrong i could have FRIED all the sensors and the ecm... Think that could have toasted 1000 Bucks in parts! Make sure to post up questions for me when you think of them!


I think it is the cheapest way to a dependable argo (or aatv). It gives me fuel injection, a TON of power and HUGE RPM for snow and tracks. Oh, and i get a REAL altinator to go with the engine... Good for lights and the winch!

It is kind of there... Some wil have to be lengthened and other shortened so i didnt make it very "pretty" But it does work and that is what i wanted. I think i can even tie one wire into the ECU and carry a book around with me for feild shooting "trouble" codes LOL.

Mounting a clutch on a G 10 suzuki chevey 1.0L metro

Mounting a Clutch on the G-10.

The crank shaft holes that are used to mount the flex plate are M-10 by 1.25 pitch (known as a fine thread) We are using a broken crank off of a polaris snow machine. It has been pressed apart so we have the 10:1 taper on the end to mount a 2000 to 2004 700 or 800 P-85 polaris style drive clutch from a snow mobile.

It is rather intersting that the crank itself "feels" like it could be pressed into the flex plate and welded. How ever, in the intrest of strenght the crank shaft will be pressed into a peice of round stock, turned back and 6 holes drilled.

The odd ball hex cap (allen) screwes i was able to find at Fasten all online:
M10 by 1.25 pitch 35mm long scews

Also we are going to use a peice of the the transmission bell housing to mount the starter... that simplifies that operation A LOT. For those of you that dont know, the starter mounts on the back of the engine and int to the transmission.

Good call. I was wondering how you were going to do that. I was thinking of cutting a 3/8" aluminium plate to bolt on and carry the starter. I could probably make one up for you if you'd like to do that way.
