  • Stuck with Adair Tracks

Well, I finally managed to stick this thing.......... a couple times. It was easy actually, all I had to do was throw about 75 extra gallons of fuel on board, top it off with some other junk, and drive it straight into a bottomless muskeg pit. There I was

here is one of the better ones

Great! You've blown the myth. There goes Tim's business. I'm cancelling my track order. What's next RD you gonna tell me Santa Claus ain't real!
seriously though how much does a gallon of gas weigh? You are carrying more than you ususally see when people test their argos with these tracks.

I think gas is 6.6lbs per gallon.

Now honestly, you were stuck with an old conquest. Not that that's a bad machine but maybe a New Frontier with 18.5 wide high floatation tracks on top of 25s would be in order if you plan to carry that much weight.

              Keith.

Even Adair tracks have their limitations.

No worries, I have ordered another set from Tim, and I saw Santa Claus talking to a Sasquatch on a Unicorn the other day, all is good.
I think I do test these tracks more than the average person, and put a ton of stress on them. At about 30hrs I already had to pull a full link out to keep them mounted, and now on my way out this last trip, I almost walked out of one track again. I will probably have to pull at least a half link out to get them tightened back up.

Oh, 7.3lbs per IMP Gallon of gas, so I had about 540lbs load in just extra fuel.
In that 3 week trip, I burned about 625 liters (a bit over 1000lbs) of fuel, not including what I put through the trucks.

LOL, my experience leads me to believe that I would squish a new Frontier hauling some of the loads that the Conquests haul.
I am running the 18.5" Tracks right now, but my next set that I have ordered will be 14.5". I agree that the extra floatation helps in this kind of mess, but they are a Biatch trying to fit through some of the trails

Glad to hear it Bill, here is my second "Stuck" with the Adairs. You might notice that after this one, I was a little more carefull of where I went. Not because I was afraid of getting stuck again, but because I was expected at a sertian place at a specific time and I did not want to be late

Ya know what I think RD, I think the mosquitoes dug those holes deeper while you weren't around, so they would have an easy meal. Sure fooled them, didn't you.
It's always fun to watch your videos, keep 'em coming!

I really enjoyed that video. It's amazing the places that the Adair tracks can take you through with no problem at all.
