how to tell if the Transmission good

      Yes Mike i put A additive in the trans,, but it might need more Thanks Mike for your help
      Max IV has a high out put heater,custom cab, windshield wiper,suspension seat,new hydraulic brakes ,cargo rack on the front ,,,and I'm loving every minute of this .

        4 ounces should have been enough. That may be as good as it gets. When you are going down a hill that is when the bands will be placed under more load and if you are going slow and slowly pulling the sticks back that is probably when it does it the most. That's just a normal part of the transmission. Just drive it and don't worry about the sound. That's normal.

            I finally got my "New" Hustler unloaded from my truck, and playing with the T20, I see it has the dreaded gear lube in it, but looks clean. LOL if you look at the pics of the chains, it appears someone was quite liberal with the lube.
            Anyway, chains are still hooked up, but neither the steering levers or shifters are hooked up. Problem is, the shifting diamonds don't seem to do anything, no detent between F-N-R. Does this seem like it might be a problem?
