      • Hi there!

Just joined the site and have already received a TON of answers from prior forum posts. Thank you all for your feedback on pullling motors, tightening chains, adjusting tranny bands, selecting the right ATF and limited slip additive etc...

I bought a 2002 Max IV on Ebay that "only had 20 hours on it" and have been working on it ever since! I have it about 90% and it really looks like new. More a situation of neglect than abuse. Took our inaugural ride this morning with my wife and the 2 little dogs and had a blast. Still need to yank the motor and fine tune band adjustments, but it's 150% better than the first ride in the driveway!

Looking forward to watching more of your incredible youtube videos and even attending some rides in other states over the next years. When I was a kid growing up in Northern Minnesota a friend had a Max II and I've been crazy about those vehicles ever since. Now I'm in my late 40's and finally bought my first amphibious!! Super excited!!!

Thanks again for your knowledge and support (whether you knew it or not) and happy riding.

        • Hi Ryan, welcome to the site and thank you for such a great introduction. Even though you had to put a lot more work into your max than you expected, at least you know it will be dependable now.

Don't be shy, tell us a little about yourself. Do you own an amphibious atv? If so, what kind. Where do you live, etc?

We look forward to meeting you.

                • Hi,
                  My name is Guy.
I live near Detroit and I just bought a Pug to use in my camp in New York.
There is a problem with the transmishion. It will only go in high. It dos nothing in low and locks up in reverse.
I would like any information I can get such as repair manuals, parts availability.
                  Thanks

                              • Hi all. I have a Max II that I've been rebuilding. The carb is rebuilt, new gaskets and parts of the wiring harness are redone. Now for tires. I don't think I need chevrons as I don't think we'll ever take it in water, but we will be wondering through a swamp, so I'm thinking mud tires for an ATV will work better...any thoughts. Great site...thanks for such a great resource.
