          • hi, I am matt. I am a new owner of an argo and am figuring out all of my likes and dislikes about the machine. Some really helpful advise and discussions on this website so thank you all. I plan on customizing my argo a little bit and I probably would not if this discussion board wasn't here. I am not a tinkerer but have found working on my argo is quite acceptable. I am a fabricator and was wondering if any one else has ever tried to build some type of water turbine to fit on the axle to help propel the vehicle in the water.

            • Hi dbeckner and Matt, welcome to the site. dbeckner, congratulations on your Scrambler purchase and good luck with the restoration. Matt, there have been a few ATVs manufactured from the factory with either jet pumps or propellers. The Sperry Rand Wedge is the first to come to mind when talking about jet pumps and the Hydratrek is an ATV manufactured today that has propellers. If you will search the site, there is a video of the hydratrek showing it in the water.

                  • Hello everyone,
My name <Gros Chat> means big cat in french, I live in Quebec city, Quebec Canada, I am a 60 years old, welding inspector, I like fishing and hunting (bow and black powder). From 2000 to 2006 I had a Conquest and me and My spouse, we had a lot of fun with it.
Now I am looking to buy a new one (a 750 HDI SE) pretty soon and I am trying to get as much information as I can before I buy,
Like about the tracks, I had the 18" plastic tracks at the time and I found them slippery in the mountain (in winter).
Now there are many kinds, rubber tracks up too 24", also Escargor and Adair tracks.
I want to buy the ones that will give me the best all season and marecage and mountain without reducing the life of my machine.
Thank you very much and have a nice day, Jacques

                      • Hello-

I have followed this forum for quite some time, and I have found it very helpful and entertaining. I have a 1998 Argo Response. I've addd a welded aluminum cab and have tinkered with most of its systms over the past few years. I live in Alaska and have used the Argo on many hunting trips. It is a good machine and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. In my professional life I am a civil engineer and work in many of the rural communities throughout the state.

Thanks again for all of the informative threads, etc.

                        • Hello everyone,

                          Brian from Palm Bay Fl.
I just found this site and found it very informing. I just purchased a four person Scrambler locally and it is going to be a total rebuild. No motor no chains and the left side brakes are missing.
Does any one have any old parts for sale that would help in my project. I have 2-13hp honda motors sitting on pressure washers. Can someone tell me if one of these motors would be big enough to motor the scrambler? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

                          • Hi chaps, well sadly for me the time has come, she's got to go. The time & indoor storage constraints have won out.
                            She's going on Ebay.co.uk starting 7.30pm (London time) today item # 140617919428

I have a 6 x 6 Amphicat with a CCW single cylinder 2 stroke. Believed 1973. I came by this in a deal about 15 years ago. I've never had the time to do anything with it. The tub is in quite good condition. (Red & blue with American stars & stripes)Transmission system looking a bit on the rusty side.
Most of the 3 stud small centre tyres are completely rotted out.

I would prefer to fix it up rather than sell, but lack the storage space & time. I'm 2 minded at present.

Currently trying to get it started - see my thread started today entitled CCW won't start - no spark in the engine section.

I live the north west of England, near the sea side town of Blackpool, about an hour north west of Manchester.

                            • AK Argo, welcome (officially) to the site. I would love to see pictures of your aluminum cab. Upload some to the gallery if you have any.

Brian, welcome to the site as well. I love the look of the four seat Scramblers. Good luck with your rebuild. For any parts that you are looking for, start a new thread in the wanted forum on this site. As for the motor, you may want to start a new thread in the "Other AATVs" forum since this is mainly an introduction thread that isn't looked at by everyone.
