I have found one but the guy that has it does not know the year, make or model of it! All he knows is that it has a Artic Cat 440 engine in it and it has been restored. He says it runs and drives great. I was hoping someone might know what kind it is and what it may be worth. Thanks! I am attaching some pics he sent me, i hope i attached them correctly.

This looks like a cluster of crap bolted, painted, and stuck on the machine. I would never spend good money on any machine that has been molested to this extent, especially this brand. If it were a max II done in the same fashion I would too out at $600, and I like those machines. This is probably a $300-$400 machine."Looks like you have a problem with your 4 wheeler........you're missin' two wheels there"

Hi all, I am new to this site but not new to amphibs. I bought a 99 max 4 about 12 years ago and a year ago got a good deal on another max 4 with a cab, tracks, and 27 horse. thats the ice fishin rig and the other one is for summer fishin. I live in northern Wisconsin and am very isolated when it comes to finding folks to ride with.So please give me a shout if you live in the area. After many modifications and new drive train got the 99 workin great. Guess you could say Im addicted. Thanks, TboneWhat it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.

New Argo Conquest owner
Hi everyone
I just purchased a 1993 Argo Conqest and found this site. I am from the London, Ontario area, but plan on using it at my cottage in the North Bay Area.
This site is great and I have been reading tons of info on Argos and other items on here...
I have been stripping things down and repairing items as I find them.
Just got the radiator back from being re-cored. It had apparently frozen and the tanks had expanded. Not a good sign, but hopping for the best...
I am still having an overheat issue. I start it up and the temp gauge goes to the top end within 3 to 4 minutes. I shut it down right away, but the coolant in the rad is cold. Obviously not circulating. Any thoughts?
Also, I only have 2 chain tighteners on this. I can see where the other 4 go, but they are not there... I don't see any wear on the sprockets, but think I should get new ones. Is it safe to run without them? Chains seem pretty loose...
Thanks for any help you can send my way...
Look forward to getting this baby running...

Akenny, Welcome to the site!
I'm not familiar with that engine but generally I would check the thermostat. Maybe remove it and see what it does. Can you look in radiator and see movement? Maybe remove a hose and see if its pumping water. Could be water pump. Could also be plugged water jackets. The must of had water in it to freeze so maybe corrosion issues. Also check and make sure the temp gauge is right.
For the chain it could cause damage to chain or sprockets or that every they are rubbing on being loose. Like bottom of tub over time.
Congrats on you purchase. If you need more help try a post in the argo section. You will probably get better response.

Thanks Larry
I should of mentioned that it is a Kawasaki fd620 20 HP.
I checked the Thermostat before I put it back together and it works fine, but someone told me that it cannot sense air? So if no liquid is in engine that could be cause. My fear is the water pump or worse...
I will try running it without the cap to see if there is any movement...
Thanks for the confirmation on the tensioners. I thought that mabe they were not needed in a 93 machine, but that really did not make sense to me...
Thanks for the quick response, great to know there is a resource out there...

Hey Mike, thanks for such an awesome site. You really put a lot of thought and effort into this. It is a wealth of information and a connection to other aatv addicts like myself. Now that I know where these rides are I plan on attending some. They are quite a haul from the northwoods of WI. But sounds like it would be worth it. Thanks again, TboneWhat it lacks in ground clearance it makes up for with traction.
