    • Throwing out a shout to everyone on this forum and saying hello, my name is mark, I currently reside in Albion, pa. I recently just brought home a new bundle of joy, lol a attex 450 tomahawk year unknown, it belong to a, good friend of mine, that has pass on, after talking to his wife ,she gave it to me and my son for father/son project, before his passing 7 years ago, he had it up running with snowmobile motor and was using it, now after all this time of sitting, the motor is froze up along with cables, this past week I sprayed panther piss into cylinders and into the throttle cable, it hopes of freeing stuff up ,I guess worst case scenario will be a use/new motor , my biggest problem ,or what I would be the happiest with, is either do I go back to somewhat stock or find another snowmobile motor . decision, decision
If my younger days I would say, hold my beer and watch this, now my older days, I would say hold my coffee maybe try this

              • Congrats on getting an Attex, Mark. The T'hawk is a very nice machine no matter what power plant you decide to give it. In NW PA you're not too far from Pine Lake in Ashtabula, Ohio: you should make the trip out there and meet up with a large group of AATV folks. You'll enjoy it, and there are always lots of parts for sale. You'll get ideas and advice on your build as well. We just got done with a racing weekend, but we'll be out there in the fall again for a hare scramble (Sept 9 thru 12).
Stuck in the seventies- not in the swamp.

                (6) Attex, a Hustler, a Super Swamp Fox, (2) Tricarts, (3) Tri-sports, a Sno-co trike, 3 Dunecycles, and a Starcraft! ...so far

                • Thank you Don, that’s greatly appreciated, your right about, not being too far, as the crow flies i’m 15 miles away. I wanted to go big time, but I figured I would have been a big 44-year-old kid and want, everything I saw lol, instead i use up my internet time on watching u tube clips on pine lake
A good friend of mine and owner of JB racing, spoke very highly of Fischer Pine Lake. I definitely have mark down the dates for Sept , in hope to see all the AATV folks for ideas and advice

                      • Hello All,

I am the proud (I hope) new owner of a used Max 2. It needs some work so I'm here to learn. I live in the country north of Kansas City Mo about 35 minutes within 1 mile of the Platte River. The Platte floods several times a year so an amphibious ATV made sense to me since the water at the low end of my road is often deeper than my Arctic Cat 4WD atv can handle.

At this point I'm trying to learn all I can. I'm not even sure what year my Max is since I've been unable to find any types of identifying marks anywhere on it.

What I know for sure is:

My 16 hp Vanguard needs a carb overhaul (surging)
The original fuel tank is gone ( plastic boat tank mounted next to engine cover)
Most of the park brake hardware is gone but main pedal remains
                        Chains are worn and sloppy.

I'm digging in to try to make this baby right so I can enjoy it.

                        Loney
