Hello all.
I had a Seira trail boss when I was 16 with a single cylinder JLO 2-stroke engine that kept leaning out on me. When I got the engine running good, it started snapping chains and I couldnt aford to replace them. Its one of the only things I have sold in my life that I regret. Took me another 26 years to find another machine that I felt comfortable buying. I just bought this unit, it reached out and said it was the one. http://www.6x6world.com/forums/autom...s-vehicle.html
It has the 29 hp fuel injected Kawasaki engine and tracks. The machine only has 17 hours on it and was told there isnt a scratch on it. I spent about double what I always said I was willing to, but I got a brand new machine for half of the price. I live about 20 minutes from the max factory in buffalo also. So soon I will be looking for others in the area to ride with.

Well now, the NY gang is heading to NC in October to do a Busco ride and it would be a great time to give the machine a good run for it's money. Hope to see you there and might i add you will get to meet a large number of the member too.
Good luck with your new machine!
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"
Hi justgotanargo, welcome to the site. Check out the Local 6x6 World Members forum and see if there is a Missouri thread in there. If not, start one and you may just find someone close to you to ride with.

Welcome to the site Allen. If you have questions try using the search feature to find some answer. if that fails you, start a thread in the appropriate section. there are different sections for engines, transmissions, general Argo and so on. People are friendly here and we were all new once so don't be afraid to ask

Hi Allen and welcome to the site. What is your intention with the machine? Trail or speed? If it is trail i would consider switching over to a 4 stroke twin which has a large inventory of parts avaliable. These units are resonablely priced and you may even find one on the net somewhere. Which ever way you choose good luck and welcome.

Take it easy thunderingedge
Hi thunderingedge, welcome to the site and congratulations on your Argo.
I just bought a 92 max II, i went out to buscoe a couple month ago andhad such a good time that i finally bought an old max. It sat for about 4 plus years so it needed some work, So far i have pulled the old tecumseh motor cleaned it out pulled all old chains, service tranny and pulled a bent front axle. I need a new plastic fuel tank as the old metal one is to rusty, want to put a new engine so i could use some input on what is best for the max II, and need some new tires. im trying to get it all done before thenext busco trip. I would love all the input i can get, and would love to save some cash and put a used engine fuel tank and tires.I am also thinking of replacing all wheel bearings even though they seem fine, and a posible complete dissasembly.what are your alls thoughts, i sure would appreciate them.
Hi Hans, welcome to the site. For the fuel tank, just post a wanted ad in the classified section of the site. Someone may have what you need. If not, you can purchase one from the factory: Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511 or from your local Max dealer. If I were in your position, I would go ahead and completely disassemble the Max. That way you know that everything is new or rebuilt when it goes back together and you won't spend time fixing things that break one at a time. Good luck with your Max and I hope to see you at Busco in October.
Hi my name is Trapper 1 from Halifax Nova Scotia Canada . I spend a lot of time out in the woods . Hunting /Trapping and Fishing . thinking about buying a amphibious atv for trapping . Just would like to know how they perform in swamps and deep snow . I own a atv now . It saves me a lot of walking, but still can not get out to the lakes or swamps to do my trapping . I checked out the price on the new argo but i could purchase a full size 4x4 truck for what they want for it . Thinking about the Max can any body tell me how they perform ? thank you Trapper1
