Congrats on your hustler! With all the money saved you could build that hustler up to a great machine, better then new and still have some left. Welcome to the site!

                    • Hello members of 6x6 world! I have been lurkin in the background since the middle of december and thought i should introduce myself. This is a AWWSOME site with tons of good info. I recently picked up an old 1969 i think Max2 and have since torn it down to the last bolt. Someone had butchered in an old 2 stroke sacs engine that i am replacing with a 23hp kohler commander. Should have my new clutch next week. Im in the process of making up new solid axles and will be changing all the bearings. Also i have the t-20 torn down it looks fairly decent but i havent been able to find any specks on how thick the bands are from new or how thin they can be before they should be changed. Any info on them would be greatly appreciated? Also does anybody have a blueprint for a good motormount bracket for the kohler engine? Thankyou and again Great site Bob (oldbogger

                      • Hi Bob, welcome to the site! There are several posts on the T20 band thickness in the transmission forum. If you use the search function you should be able to find them. Here's one to get you started: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/trans...html#post74311

                        • Thanks Mike, my thinnest band measures in at 0.099 and they all look uniform in thickness, no cracks or pitting. do you think they will work for a wile yet? The place that that does the relining is that aregular auto tranny shop ? If so i may try and see if there is a shop here in Winnipeg that can do them.

                          • With a uniform thickness and no cracks or pitting I would just run them like they are.

                            • Hello everyone, my name is Mike I live near seattle out next to lots of forested land.
Found this site when I had the idea of converting my prototype mini garrit skidsteer log skidder into a utv of some sort. would also want it able to pull snow and perhaps handle a box blade for driveway clearing. it has 2 torque hubs a pump/steering all in one unit 22 hp of diesel power plant and I dont use it much. seems like it would make a nice donar but from reading here hydraulics loose alot of gas mileage that would be useful for out on the trails. Am I crazy to build this way? Would a system using a cut down axle with brakes for steering be better? there are the questions im trying to learn about. ill keep reading the old forums and see how you guys have solved some of the issues im looking at.
