  • New to it all...

Hello everyone! I'm John and I am new to this forum as well as Amphibious ATVs. I have been reading through all of the great information on the site and am impressed with all of the awesome information!

I am from Mississippi, living just outside of Memphis, TN. I am a new proud owner of a 1996 Max IV and am planning on getting it out on the trails/water this weekend. If it is half as much fun as the videos I've seen, I know I'm going to be addicted!

Thanks for all the great technical information on the site!

    John

          • Hi All
My name is Larry and I am new to this forum, I have a 2000 Max II and I live in Northern Maine. I screwed up my tranny 2 years ago and I will be doing a complete rebuild of my Max this winter ( I have a new heated garage) It has been abused over the years and now it is time to get it back in perfect condition and take much much better care of it.

            • Locolouie and Larry, welcome to the site. Locolouie, congratulations on your new ATV. Larry, the T20 is an easy transmission to work on and there are a lot of good how-to articles and videos in our how-to section that can help make it even easier.

              • Hello here. My name's John. I've got a place in Springfield, Oh. but I'm not there much. (travel a lot for work) I got the bug in Sept. and bought a late 90's Max II out of N.C. and proceeded to meet my buddies to trail ride in northern Tn. that weekend. TOO much fun! (Should've bought one 20 yrs ago) I just bought a 2nd Max II; still have to pick it up in Iowa. The plan is to re-work one of them while still being able to play with the other. Would LOVE the springer kit. BTW-Mike, LOVE the site!!! Lots of great info on here

                  • Hello, my name is Kenneth (aka) mudbilly, I am new to this sight as I am thinking about getting an amphibious atv, I am looking at an early 80's model Argo 8x8, It has a convertable canvas top & windshield, A set of factory plastic tracks, A brush guard & winch, And a 5hp outboard motor...

I do not know much about these vehicles, And would like to know how much I should expect to pay, It has just over 45 hours on according to the gage on the dash, I believe the guy said it was a 1982 or 1983 model year, And is asking $8,500 cash or trade for it, Any advice would be greatly appreciated, As I am new to these kind of ATV's

                    Sincerely ; Kenneth (aka) mudbilly

                    • Welcome mudbilly, and now walk away from the argo. please throw away any information on the seller. that is way too much money for that machine. You could get a 2006 for that type of coin.

Keep checking this site,a lot surface on here.BTW I'm in Cleveland and ride in Ashtabula and Garrettsville often. Also spend a lot of time in the Pymatuning Valley.

Traded a quad for a 6 wheeler.......don't you worry, you won't have any regrets. You're certainly moving up the food chain by ditching a quad and getting a REAL all terrain vehicle. Welcome to the site, you're going to have a blast with your 6 wheeler!
