  • The site keeps telling me to introduce myself....

Coldone907 here. You can probably figure out where I'm from....come on, think about it.
    J
ust bought a used 1996 MAX IV and I'm a 4 wheeler convert.
Time to take it all apart and replace bearings, chains etc and freshen the whole machine up. I'll probably have questions along the way so be prepared.

I've got a superb dealer here who actually looked at the machine before I bought it and then didn't charge me a dime for the inspection. He was confident enough that I'd ditch my wheeler and get a MAX!

    • Wayne and coldone907, welcome to the site.

Wayne, you probably just missed about 20-25 6 and 8 wheelers last weekend at Busco Beach. We ride there twice a year in April and October. Here is the thread with some pictures and video will start showing up from the ride when everyone has time to upload it this weekend: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/trail...10-2010-a.html. You will have to join us there when you get a 6 wheeler.

coldone907, congratulations on your Max purchase. Having a knowledgeable dealer perform a pre-purchase inspection was a smart move and getting it done for free is great. Sounds like you have a great dealer near you.

      • Hello there ,I'm a new mmber but have visited for a long time. I'm sticky!!!

I just bought a 1970's Max. I've removed the Rockwell JLO and I am planning some major modifications. Please help on my other posts as this will be a custom job for sure. Thanks Kev

          • Hello Everyone,
My name is Wayne Fristik I live in Eastern N.C. about an hour from Busco Beach. I reacently went riding there with some friends, sadly I have to report we were riding 4-wheelers. Dont get me wrong we had allot of fun,but I couldnt help remembering back to the early 70s and the fun we used to have with our 6-wheelers. I dont even remeber what kind it was except that it was red and had a 20 h.p. JLO Rockwell engine in it. Ever since that day at busco I have been on a quest to own a 6-wheeler again, I have even gone as far as to post my Harley for trade on the "Wanted" site. Thats how seroius I am about it, you see my friend has a year round spot and a trailer set up at Busco. His only problem is he can never find anyone to go riding with him I love riding , but I would prefer to have something of my own to ride. And I REALLY want that something to be a 6-wheeler, and after my friend gets a taste of them there will be one more 6-wheeler fanatic in the world. Until that day I guess I'll just have to console myself with a borrowed 4-wheeler and dreams of my younger days when I could ride virtually anywhere without fear of not being able to get back home.

              • Hi jamester, welcome to the site. I believe there are a couple of posts in the engine forum on walbros. You should be able to search it and fine the existing threads. If they don't help you just start a new thread there in the engine forum and someone may be able to help.

I am interested in the machine called Jumbo 2000 or a series 1200. It has a metal body . If anyone out there can help me locate one running or not, it will be greatly appreciated. Thank You. berneh

                          • jimies, wheeler, and berneh, welcom to the site!

berneh, try starting a new thread in the wanted section of the site for better exposure. You don't see Prairie Bobcats come up for sale too often but you never know when someone will have one they want to sell.

Good day, i am a long time argo owner and user. I have a Argo Vanguard 2 with tracks. Great machine and i do all my own work on it. I live in the Belleville area and frequent The Point Petre area for hunting and fun rides. I joined this site to find more argo and 6 and 8 wheel owners to go for rides with. Also for info when im doing work on the machine.

Thanks and have a good one

                              • Hi Jimmy, welcome to the site. Hopefully you can find some people near you to ride with. Look in the "Local 6x6 World members" forum and see if there is anyone in your area. If not start a new thread asking if anyone is close by.
