sorry if I missed something here, but.......

if it's a Hustler, I think the tub is HDPE, and, if so, nothing will really "stick" well........

    I'd really suggest welding it.
I've posted some photos and laymens instructions , and, I know others, more talented than I, have as well.

It's pretty easy, and, IMHO, more permanent.
I did it to fix several holes and cracks in my Hustler...and, they're holding very well.

    good luck.

plastic is plastic to me lol

I have no idea what the tub is made of other than some kind of plastic. I have seen abs before and it look kinda like that but i really have no idea. I did manage to fix the cracks with some stuff I got from a hardware store called Quicksteel. It has held so far, the package reads that it will stick to just about anything. The only downside of it that I can see is that it's raised from the surface that you put it on, but beint where it is it cant really be seen.

I'm fairly sure, if it's a Hustler, it is HDPE.....and, as such, I'm also pretty sure nothing sticks well.....it may be on there, now, but, unless it's something "new", it'll eventually let go.......at least that's what my research told me.....that's why I decided to weld it.......

I'm not dissing your repair, and, I do hope it works........

        Just sayin'........

Well its almost ready to come out of the shop. I finished making a body band and sealed the top and bottom together this afternoon. If UPS delivers on time, my tranny parts will be here by friday and it will be running no later than saturday.....(I hope ) So far, it has cost me about $1600 and many hours in the shop but I think it will be worth it. All thats left is mounting the exhaust, seat upholstry, puttin some Herculiner on the rear floorboard and of course, the transmission....just a few more days....

Well that's great news but things have a way of getting off schedule with 6x6s

Seriously though, (and I speak from experience) don't rush to get it up and running. Take your time and make sure things are right especially in the T-20. It will save you time and $. Whats the old saying you always have time to do it right the second time.

Make sure to take some pictures or video of your maiden voyage!

when you get in a hurry you break stuff.....

I know exactly what you mean. I've screwed up plenty of stuff by gettin in too big of a hurry. It's suppost to rain all day tomorrow anyway, so I wouldnt get it out. Caught it on fire today, was spot-welding a muffler bracket to my body band and a spark ignited something in the bottom of the tub. It didnt burn hot enough or long enough to mess anything up but if I hadnt found that bucket of rainwater I think I would have lost the whole machine.....(now that I think about it, it was kinda funny I was runnin around like a chicken with my head cut off screamin HELP!!!! but thankfully everything was OK)

Well it looks like next week on the t-20 parts. Dose anyone know how wide the piece of plywood used for the front seat on the 950s is? I got my the exhaust put together and bolted on today, its so quiet. All I have to do is upholster some seats and wait on UPS.

                    HELP!!

OK, most of my parts from Recreatives came yesterday. (some idiot didnt put my throttle lever and cable in there, and I wont have them until tomorrow) I got my t-20 put back together and it works pretty good. I made a makeshift throttle cable and went to take it for a test ride. I got about 100 yards and it threw all the chains off the drivers side and broke my special idler sprocket bracket. What am I doing wrong?????? Please help this thread seems to have been forgotten.

                      Hi Stonewall,

If you think that there may be any chance at all that you will be needing to ask the good people at Recreatives for free advice or help, it might be a good idea to hold back on the name calling.Ya think?
Also, none of us has as much money as we would need to buy all the things that we would like but if your shop has a welder, and you are welding on or near gas powered machines,a small fire extinguisher should be on your wish list for Christmas. Good Luck

I would replace the idler sprockets with rollers. Rollers are a little more forgiving with the chains.

                          Very Bad Day

Do you think that having an idler sprocket instead of plastic rollers was what caused the chain to come off in the first place? I thought it was because I had them too tight. I dont know how soon I can put it back together, because when one of the chains jumped off it bent a tooth on a sprocket. This is really dissappointing because it was suppost to come out of the shop ready to ride this afternoon.

does anyone know where to get those plastic rollers? i cant find any and i think i threw the old ones away cuz they were wore out so thats why i put in the sprockets. where should i go to get the plastic rollers? a friend suggested half-moon shaped blocks of wood like on his old combine but i dont know how well that would work
