Help my Mudd-Ox sunk!

I have seen those before, I don't think they would work with the track installed. They say they add over 300lbs of floatation, these and the float kit would add over 600lbs of floatation and that might do the trick. The extra floatation and traction should make them work good even without tracks. Would be very interested in seeing some test on an OX and the price is fair to.

You can see in this photo that the track keepers go down low on the tires.

You could put a wheel spacer in between the JWheel and the mudd-ox rim. That would space it out enough for the grouser to clear. Wheel Adapter 5 Lug 4.5" To 5 Lug 4.5" Spacers 1.5" | eBay Mudd-ox uses a 1/2" lug stud (13mm) and these are only 12mm, but that shouldn't be enough difference to matter.
The drawback to the JWheelz is the added width of the machine. If you are using the machine in a wooded area, they could catch on trees, if in grasslands/open areas they should work great.

Let me get this straight the muddox uses a 1/2" lug stud and these are 12 mm, i.e. the lug stud on the spacers..so anything screwed to them have to accept the 12 mm and you think that these shouldn't matter?

This is assuming that Matt will come through with the float kit..it will cost and i assume i will have to foot the bill. But i haven't held my breath because I might be waiting to exhale. He has some stuff left to ship to me this week (right matt?) so i am hoping that he'll throw that in...

KMAC: Skip the j-wheelz, ditch those rubber tracks, and get some Adair swimming tracks. I'd also remove the cab top, then you should be able to swim some. The machine won't swim well, but should get you across a small tributary.

I'm going to ditch the cab top..i can't ditch the rubber tracks, one is on its way. The ox has to swim or it won't be any use to me..there are no tributaries where they will be used only a river that is up to 40 - 100 meter wide in some places and at least 3 - 15 meters deep. And i have to cross them...So i'm gonna try.... if i fail you will hear about the ox at the bottom of a river...

Just a thought..has anyone tried using J-wheelz to increase floatation on the ox? They look like they might even work with the tracks on...

Don't even think about using J-Wheelz for a floatation device on a machine that weighs as much as yours does. I have a friend that weighed a Mudd-Ox on a truck weigh scale ,and if I remember correctly, the weight of it was 1,868 with out a driver. This was with a winch and a brush guard.

Rubber tracks don't swim!!! Adair tracks do but not at a rate that is going to offset any real currents. I hope you have an outbound mount with a trolling motor. That is your only real chance at crossing a river with current.

I remember seeing those photos. Didn't they sorta swing up on top of the vehicle for land use? I remember being impressed.

Mudbug3,that's cool,saw this one before. The pic's I saw if I remember correctly used similar devices for floats on "arms" attached to the top of the rollcage to "swing" up when not needed. I'll try to find them,pretty sure they were on this site.
