Hey Larry,
PM me with your travel plans.
I can leave either day.
I'll have mine and Mikes (Toys4me) Attex's in tow.
We plan on hitting the trails and watching the races.
Having some timing issues with the Thunderchiefs JLO, may need some help from you 2cyl guys straightening it out.
Any one have have part numbers for the G50B points and condenser set? I should probably pick a spare set up for the Superchiefs!
Or if anyone has a set on the shelf they don't need any more, bring them to Ashtabula for me.
later...edThe trouble with retirement is.... I never get a day off !!!!

In PA working with dad and hoping to get an untested Rotax in his springer running to replace the melted and too rare/expensive to repair Sachs. It should be way more reliable and is already easier to get parts for. I also have 5 days instead of 2 this time and we should be there sometime on Friday. Chuck/Cole, when are you guys leaving?

I kept forgetting to PM you Tech', to see if you were making it again this year... who was I kidding?! The Evils have been pretty quiet this spring.... I hope the Evil Racer makes it!
What sort of Rotax are you running? If you're running a version of the fan-cooled 447-503 style engines, there are a great number of free-air kits for the 503 if you want to get around 60 horse out of it by negating the fan tower altogether. I've seen 40mm Mikunis strapped to the back of 503s, with the heads turned at 90 degrees to facilitate cooling. They really scream. Maybe a pair of CHT gauges to keep tabs on it while you're blasting around? Ultralight guys don't lend a lot of help in 503 mods, though. They're all way too worried about falling out of the sky.
If you're running a big Rotax liquid cooled, then... well... we're not speaking.

I'm running the same as last year in the RIM.... You may not want to speak to my father then (It's still under 500cc though - but I did pick it out).

Whipper just got back from dropping our trailer off at the track. They are ready for everyone.
In spite of some rain, the majority of any rain has been bypassing Ashtabula, so it's stayed relatively dry at the track. Forecast says that the Cleveland area should have some cooler, drier weather by Thursday. Right now it's looking real good.
Whipper said that Bud & Bill have piles of firewood all ready for anyone that needs some. And , yes, there are places to get food in town & would appreciate your business.
It's Monday & Bill was driving around in his cart with his STAFF event shirt on already. He must be looking forward to this as much as we are.
See ya soon & get yourselves here safely.

Glad you folks made it there safely! You're so close, just 2.5 hours from work in Buffalo. It's killing me that I have to sit here with the website in the background (almost all day) just waiting until Thursday.... I should just swing down to Ash' and have a beer or two after work.Heck.... I could take Wednesday off, and swing up and get GeoJem Thursday morning...
<sigh>... I suppose I can wait.

AAHH!! All this talk is making me so excited! We'd be there now if Brian had his way. Dang this working thing! It keeps getting in they way of life!
As for the camping/food...We'll have the same set up as last year...a screened in food tent, a camp stove and a small grill. We are planning on simple breakfasts and lunches. If my neice, Becky has here way, one morning will be pankcakes galore. I'm working on a medium sized Boston Butt for BBQ one night and of course, the required makings for smores. Ya'll come visit! We'll share all we've got. None of it is coming back to NC with us!
According to Brian, we should be there by 10-11ish Thursday morning, then a mega food trip to Walmart!
Bridget and Whipper...Glad you guys made it safe, and yes, I'm soooo jealous!Max II Girls...The Best in the World!

Ready to go!
Pulled my attex out of the barn for the first time in what seems like a year.Sitting with a broken bearing, sheered axle bolt, and broken diamond shifter. About 20 minutes later me and the wife were driving it around (i really wished i would had fixed it sooner). Anyways after a test drive in the woods im ready to head to Ashtabula! My brother larry will be there before us but me and my wife should be there friday night sometime. Looking forward to seeing everyone and all the rides. I'd like to bring my scrambler but will be trail riding and im wondering if i will regret it without reverse or are the trails pretty easy to navigate? Any help on that would be appreciated. Rode in larry's military trainer yesterday and its a very powerful machine. In for a treat if you get to drive that. Also wish i had his comfy seat. See you guys soon and safe travels!

Glad you finally got that going. After ash, bring it over and I will try a split shift on it. I already told everybody I would in a few weeks after I did the MaxII. That was more then a few months ago, lol. Glad your going and bringing a machine. Should be sweet. I hope I can figure out these last little bugs on my trainer. I cant get the bugger to charge. I think the reg or stator is out.
Im thinking of slapping in an alternator.
As for the nasty looking seat. I think its just about broke into as being comfy.
