  • I'm down in Virginia now, but when I get back to Buffalo tomorrow night its "go time". I'm super excited!!! On Wednesday I'm going to get my new trailer registered, pick up my air filter and gas cap for my racer, meet up with Hydromike so we can load his Attex 8x8 on my trailer, come back home and pack up camping supplies, load the machines, and then make any final tweaks that might need to be done.

    Is everyone pumped?!!!

      • Sorry to hear about your hand, Tom. Ouch! It seems like there have been a lot of injuries with 6x6World members in the last month.

Sorry to hear about the hand egoperf, but glad to hear you are still coming.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

          • STILL WORKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

Tach to install, belt guard and seat. Guys it will be down to the wire for me, but the wife, i and the Crush will be hitting the road soon. I guess test and tune will be done at Ash. I may get to drive it in the yard for a bit before loading.

              • 0615001612.jpg After pulling the cover off the RIM, found the old fuel tank must have cracked while sitting. Any suggestions on a replacement in 3 days? This was originally from a Scrambler.

                • Hey Mike,

Excuse my ignorance, but if it's a poly tank you can likely melt it right back together using a hot screwdriver or a soldering iron to weld it right back together. I did this on the JP special on race day last year. Worked like a charm! I can't tell the material from the pic, or how bad the crack is. I also have a couple (5) steel Attex tanks I could lend you if it would work in a clutch situation. I'm not sure the neck is long enough...

If nothing else works, I'll yank mine out of the RIM for you to borrow... Let me know!

I think it is HDPE but, there are a bunch of other small cracks. I'm not sure if I want to continue to trust it. That may be a last resort to weld it though.

                    • Lawnmower gas tank, perhaps? Racing car fuel cell.....a little pricey, but maybe you can borrow one from a friend. Just a few suggestion. Hope you find something that fits.

                      • Sorry to hear about your hand egoperf. Glad your still going!

Techfx, I wonder if that was an aftermarket tank. Every scrambler I have seen had a steel tank. I just got rid of mine or I would have happily brought one with me. Sorry I cant really help. Good look on finding a replacement.

Larry, that tank was from a Scrambler Got'cha I believe. They had tanks like that, and other models had aluminum ones.

Hey Tech, I might have a tank from a garden tractor if you'd like to borrow it, just say the word.

Oh so the gotcha had both plastic and aluminum ones then?

Wow, thanks everyone! If it's about 9" x 9" x 21" or close that would be perfect. I'll keep looking around here but, It wouldn't hurt to have a back up.
