  • Maxxed Out, welcome to the forums and congratulations on the Max II. There is a lot of information on the Max II in the forums and in the how-to section on the front page of the site.

jarrodcx, welcome to the site. Good luck with your Attex rebuild.

    • Found my first Argo yesterday. Digging through a barn in south-central Indiana, I uncovered an Argo Response 8x8. Charged the battery and it fired right up. After reading other posts, apparently I share the same first question as many riders..what year is my Argo? Ontario026 seems to be the authority on this information..of course I'd like anyone with this knowledge to reply. I haven't had much luck contacting Argo directly (I always get the answering machine). I would also like to know how to tell by the serial number, model number, etc (if possible) what year an Argo was produced. Based on info from previous threads, I'm guessing this Argo is somewhere around 1998..but then again I'm new here. Its been a blast so far! Thanks!

      Model V896-65
      Serial RB13414

        • Mike,

Great forum! Doing a lot of maintenance lately on a 95 Max II and will be using the forum's collective wisdom. One immediate need is for a rebuilt T20. Can you direct me to a vendor or two? Thanks.

          • Whatever you do, DON'T DEAL WITH RICHARD'S RELICS / ROUTE6X6. So many new people to the hobby have been burned by him, his high prices, inferior quality parts, and poor customer service. Try posting a wanted ad here on the site or call Recreatives since they're the manufacturer of the T-20. Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511 Good luck with everything and be sure to post any question here on the site and all the helpful members here will chime in to get you along.

            • Hi.
I've found this site to be a great help. My family bought my father an argo last year, to give him access to a cabin with lake access only.
Naturally with an older model we've had a few speed bumps. I've surfed 6x6 W quite a bit, Both before and after making our purchase, and found it very helpful. This is a great site. Thanks to everyone who contributes, and keep it up.

Hi bazoo, welcome to the forums. There are a couple of Bazoo owners on the site and there are several threads, photos and videos on here. Just use the search and you should be able to find them.

                  • Hi folks

I have been surfing this site for a few years having been most of the way through a 1970's argo rebuild.
I recently had the chance of a conquest, abandoned for a couple of years in a shed. I managed to move the old partially rebuilt argo about 5 hours after I brought the Conquest home. I now have the conquest in more bits than the old Argo as I had to take the chassis out to treat the rust that was evident when I cleaned the 50kg of muck and oil from the tub.

This is an amazing site....................an inspiration. Will post pice of my rebuild as I get through it.

                    regards

                              • Howdy,

I just joined the ranks with the purchase of a 2004 Argo Avenger. These machines have fascinated me for years and since I own some property in the Ardoch area which backs onto 1000s of acres of Crown land, most of it beaver ponds and small lakes/swamps, the Argo seems to be an ideal machine.

Debated buying a side by side UTV type with a small john boat on the roof rack but that would be too limited to well established trails.

Already own a bunch of eccentric stuff like a Rokon 2wd motorcycle, a Ural sidecar and Yamaha Bravo sled so the Argo will have great stable mates, all of them purpose built utility machines that don't go very fast but can keep going where most other ATVs have to stop.

I look forward to the advice from this group of experienced owners and thank you in advance for your patience with my newbie questions.
