  • Mick from NSW Australia- always wanted to start on a 6x6 project, going through the motions and researching the plans available at the moment- not much out there that people are happy with from what I can gather!

    Nevermind, something will pop up.

I want/need (who knows!) a 6x6 or even an 8x8 for lugging firewood on a bush block, I don't want to compact the trails and I don't want to make them full vehicle width either so I thought an atv would be a good choice.

From the look of it most here are amphibious, which is great fun- but where we are there's not much water so just an atv would probably suffice.

Anyway I look forward to trawling through the forum and hopefully finding a good plan to start building from.

    Cheers- Mick

      • Hi, I'm the new owner of a beat up Lockley Wrangler and I ran across y'alls forum while researching these critters on the net. I have started putting it back into runnable condition but it needs some parts and a lot of love. And I need more knowledge. Being a retired motorcycle mechanic with a past heavily into restoring oddball sh*t this ain't my first rodeo but it is my first Wrangler ;-) I hope somebody here will take the time to pass on a little of their knowledge and experience with these vehicles and who knows, I might be able to return the favor from my vast knowledge of oddball things :-)
        Thanks
        LilBill

        • Hi LilBill, welcome to 6x6 World. There are a couple of Lockley owners here on the site so they may be able to help here and there. Have fun with your restoration.

            • Hello, my name is Javier, I always liked the 6X6 and manufactured here in Spain the Arcos Arts since 1971 and his name is Jack mountains were very few quedarón units in Spain, just 200, was a production purely anecdotal time searching for one and found one of the first to be manufactured here in Spain but is in a deplorable state, no mechanics, only the cockpit and wheels, but the mechanics are relatively easy to find because it is citroën 3 HP engine with gearbox, still not in my power look hopefully next week. Only I have this photo of the interior. Greetings to all the community 6X6.

              • Looking for info on my Terra Tiger...

I bought a Terra Tiger yesterday from a friend who acquired it on a ''junk trade''. I bought it for my husband who collects anything & everything Allis Chalmers. I should have done better research as I believe my Terra Tiger was made by Feldmann Engineering before Allis even knew they wanted to produce them themselves. I am looking for any information I can find on my Terra Tiger. It has the original red and white body with some fading. The 'hood' area was cut along the red/white lines and brackets put on to make an actual hood. It has the original motor (Rockwell JLO 10 hp) which is seized up. It has 2 original tires which are junk. The serial number is 2000181EX Feldmann Model 2000. I am looking for what year I have, what its worth as is, where I can find tires that are the best fit and any other information on the history.... I believe I was able to attach my photos to this message. Thanks so much! Nicole

Hi Brian, welcome to the forum. You can have a lot of fun with an Attex. Post up some photos in the gallery of the parts and someone can tell you if it is worth saving. They are fairly simple machines and if the body is in decent shape it may be a good project.

Hi Javier, welcome to the forum. Since that body is fiberglass and looks to be in decent shape, the rest of the drivetrain could be recreated with a little mechanical skill and time. Is the name of the 6x6 "Arcos Arts"? The Spanish ATV that always comes to mind for me is the Gato Montes: Gato Montes Photos

Hi Nicole, welcome to the forum. Since this is mainly an introduction thread, copy and paste your message in a new thread in the "Other AATVs" forum here on 6x6 World. Someone should be able to help you out there.

Welcome to the site. Members JoeMeg and Shawn H have camps in the Ohio section and can shed some light on the rules there. If you are on the PA side get the DCNR boaters guide and read up! Pa is not amphib friendly, but I savvy individual would be able to fight any tickets or legal action that fish and game would wrongfully enforce. Just make sure you registered and insured as an atv and carry all required boaters safety gear.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

                        • Welcome to the site David. Your Scrambler has a slip clutch system for a transmission. That assy. is pretty hard to come by and many machines get scraped because if it....Slip clutches were not the best anyway. Here is what another member did to get a good transmission in his http://www.6x6world.com/forums/other...bler-body.html

                          Good luck

Bows Arts is the manufacturer and Wildcat is the model, the manufacturer was basically a builder licensee automotive auxiliary parts of many brands such as Jaeger and Cibie among others, though produced two more car models but nothing to do with 6X6, A sports and racing model makes 4, but only prototypes, Wildcat was to fabricate more and were only 200 units for Spain and could not say how many were exported, as there is very little information available, sold his patent to France (Wild Cat) among others.
                            AMPHICAT HISTORIA
For the information found here in Spain Arcos Arts invented the 6X6, which I would like to confirm with you that you are the experts, I have a patent document 1968 of the transmission system. Would you know tell me something more about it? you have some photos of vehicles manufactured Arts arches and a copy of the transmission system patent.
I have trouble uploading the photos, I'm trying it now
