    • Hello All,

My Name is Jeramiah, I just bought a project here in Tampa, FL. It is a 1980 MAX II. It was actually owned by another member on here yogi1644. I believe it is S/N 6001. I bought it not running and have started to break it down. It has the JLO 293 I believe. I will post some pics as it progresses.

Thank you for all of the great info

      • Hello to all,
I have just begun this new adventure as a Max IV owner.
2003 maxIV. 25 hp Koehler command (150 hrs, roll bar, seat belts, 26in Terra's and just purchased, Rear rack,
A complete cockpit cove enclosure, Lexan windshield through posts here and desperately seeking out the tracks system and which to use.
I'm a truck driver from the north east and also do Wilderness Search and Rescue. The max is my next step to patient extrication for the great outdoors as opposed to full carry outs. I look forward to any ideas or input to make this a great adventure not only for myself but my team. Lighting, track systems proven true and true. I can't afford to cheap out when others depend on our services. Thank you, Jeff "So others may Live"

        • Hi Jeramiah, welcome to the forum. I look forward to seeing some pictures of your Max.

Jeff, welcome to the site. It sounds like you already have a well-optioned Max and I'm sure it will be a great addition to your Search and Rescue team.

          • Hello.
I have always wanted a 6-wheeler they look like allot of fun but never searched for one very hard since I am into dirtbikes and that kept me occupied. And the other day I was checking out an old car for sale and I saw one in the shed, totally forgot about the car and asked about it. The man use to sell them and kept two and the kids had lots of fun with them and put them away broken and there they sit for many years. One is a Attex ST/400/R missing a transmission it looks like I am going back today to hopefully find it and the other is a Amphicat complete. Bought them both for a $100, I am up for the challenge to fix them up as I am done rebuilding my `71 Powerwagon and need another project. He gave me a huge folder full of literature with it so it was like going back in time reading it.
Thanks for having me and am off to the parts for sale as I need a transmission.......at least.
            Andy

            • Hi Andy welcome to the site! There are to styles of the st400r. Each with different transmission. Do you have the 40 chain or 50 chain? 40 uses a ATV manufacturing transmission. Aka bakerhill. There are three styles. 5000 had reverse but weak. 6000 had no reverse straight shaft design. Good for racers. And 7000 series. Strong and had reverse. The 50 chain uses a Borg warner t20. Also a good transmission. Any questions feel free to ask. We'll help you get them rolling.

I am still digging the Attex out, as you can kinda see in pic it is bury under rubish and some large animal made a nest in it. Hey for 100 bucks I expect some work . I had to chain saw a tree down to even get the barn door open it has been so long.
When you say 40 or 50 chain are we talking links? I found parts of the trans. scattered about the barn so I get grab all I can find.
                Thanks Larry

Thank you explaining to the rookie I will measure it out.
I was thinking 100 was pretty could, heck just all the sales flyers and brochures and NATVA patches and stickers, magazines were fun reading alone. Couple boxes of NOS parts also.

                        • Welcome to the site Nubs! They're pretty simple really. Besides transmission almost gokartish. Lol. If you built pullers you won't have a problem getting her going. Feel free to ask any questions in the argo section.
