I'll try this again. I'm new to this "form" stuff and seem to be lost. I live in N.Y. half way between Albany & Utica: we have a 80's vintage Max IV we call the 6 pac, because we cram 6 of us in it and ride until we break something [a idler, chain, axle bolt, etc.]. We are thinking of rebuilding it "right" with new axles, a different idler set up etc.. We will be looking for suggestions and reading about what others have done. You seem to be a real nice group of helpful folks, I'm glad I found you.

We'd all be happy to help you out. For bearings and chains you can go through the good people at Buffalo Bearing. Tell them you're with 6X6World and they'll take good care of you. They do lots of business with us 6X6World members. Whatever you do, NEVER deal with Richard Clark/Route6x6. He sells inferior quality parts, charges ridiculously high prices, and his customer service is horrible. He has burned many people in the 6 wheeler community, avoid him. Here on 6X6World, there are articles on how to rebuild your T-20 transmission. The rebuild should be pretty straight forward and we'll help you along. Good luck with it and keep us updated. Hello all. First post here. Am considering buying a Argo and most likely adding tracks at some point for moose hunting. Been running jet boats up the Yukon and Koyukuk for a few years but the fuel price (about $5K) is getting to hard to stomach so sold the jets and thinking of going back to ground hunting.
Previously owned ATV's and at this point am undecided if I want to buy two new ATV's or one 8x8 tracked Argo. I'll be learning as we go and might be asking a lot of questions.

I am excited to learn about the "new Argo". I used to own a Conquest in 2000 and have been using ATV's for the past few years. I have a keen interest in the AATV world. I am planning on purchasing a new machine soon. I love all the info RockDoctor has shared.

My Family owned an Amphicat in the seventies and I never forgot the great times we had with it. After years of driving 4x4 vehicles, riding street motorcycles and now dualsport bikes I finally got myself a 2010 Argo 6x6. It came with supertracks and a motor mount,and a winch. I now have my fishing boat, snowmobile, and a utv. I,m a retired machinist and have just moved to a small town just outside of Vancouver so I'll be in the woods more than in civilization. I like this forum because of the help passed on and just the great comraderie.

I am new to site , i just purchased a sierra trail boss that is in need of work. got the motor up and running, replaced a tire, new wiring for lights and new battery. took it out and it makes alot of noise when turning. I broke the belt off last night. does anyone know how to replace the belt. do i have to remove the transmisions.?
