  • Hello fellow 6x6 folks

I've come across this site a few times on the Argo atv site and decided I should sign up and say hello. I've got a 1986 KB 8 wheeler with a 17hp kohler. I have all the original manuals that cover the 6 and 8's from 77 to 86 and the service manuals for the KT 17 & 19 series II, as well as the parts manuals for them both. I like the idea of fellow Argo nuts sharing info on various projects. I'm going to be following that electric project. What a concept.

Hello everyone. I just got my argo 6x6 today. I have no idea how old it is.He showed me that it runs and drives I'm sure it needs some work done on it. It has a 399 cc kohler 2 cycle. Does anyone know how much horsepower it has? Also, how can I find out the year of this model.

thanks and I'm sure I'll be lurking around.

Did you get the $950 one from the guy in Standish Michigan? Welcome aboard, that was a great find for a running and operating machine. I am a newbie here and these guys have all been great. You can find about all you want and more than you thought.

              • Hi to everybody of the 6x6world.com!!

I'm from Spain, Barcelona, and here is very estrange, and very unusal find one 6x6. I have two 6x6, "GATO MONTES" from 1971 and 1974, i've been restoring them like the originals 100%, and they are like new right now. After this, i registered in the category of "classic cars", this is very dificult to make in spain, and i think it's the first time that someone register a 6x6, (made it in Spain)
i like to show my photos to everyone, but i don't know how to put it here, i tried to enter in gallery or in my profile, but, like i said before, i'm new here.
                Congratulations for this amazing page!

                  • What have I done?

                    OK, here's the deal-

I have never even so much as seen one of these things in person, but now I own one and will be picking it up tomorrow. Bought on eBay, have a 700 mile round trip to pick up this mid-90's Max II.

Joined the group after buying, never asked any questions of the seller. Not real worried about it, but is there anything that I should absolutely run from when looking this thing over? It has a new engine (16HP B+S).

I am really looking forward to playing with it, although seriously, I hope to never become as obsessed has some of you more hard-core addicts!

Any advice is appreciated, Thanks and I will see you around the site.

Hello, I am new to this forum. I have owned various different ATVs over the last 20 years. I have wanted to buy a Max or Argo for some time. I saw a post on this site sometime back where someone was asking about Rokons. I have one and would be happy to answer any questions. Glad to be onboard, thank you for having me.

I have been a part of the offroad world for 30 years. I have owned several ATVs, motorcycles, and most recently, a Rokon. Looking to find a Max or Argo or other interesting 6X6 or 8X8 toy.

                            Thank you for having me.

                              • New member, new to me Argo,

                                Hello All,

I just picked up a new to me Argo. It's the first ATV I've ever owned.(I'm 44 but, better late than never )
I've been lurking on the site for a couple of weeks now and it is a great source of information!
When I brought the machine home, the wife asked 'Is that thing going to tear up the lawn?' I took one trip to the end of the yard and back, and decided this may not be the best machine for the lawn...Fun though!
She's actually looking forward to some off road adventure too!
Seller told me it's an 87, I think now it may be older. It has a 16H Tecumseh engine.
I'd like to know the model of this machine if anyone knows it.
The axle bearings and seals need to be changed and the charging system is not working.
                                Should be a fun project.
