  • Hey Mike, I have a MAX IV with tracks and this past deer season I lost the right side reverse! I carefully took the t-20 tranny out and found the brake band on the right side broke where it attaches to the piston. Where can I get a replacement part? Pandre

    • Hi Pandre, welcome to the site. You can order a new band from your local Max dealer or from the factory: Amphibious Six-Wheel Drive All-Terrain Vehicles: MaxATVs - Call 1-800-255-2511

      • Howdy: It is nice to be a new member, I do not have a 6x6 or a 8x8 yet I have to sell my sportman 500 remington edition first. I am going to my local dealer next weekend to check them out. I hope to learn more about them, Thanks

        • Welcome to the forum joehunter. You came to the right place to do research. Good idea trading that sportsman in for a real ATV. Those don't even float and you get wet just driving through a puddle. Make sure you properly research any machine before buying it though. There's a lot of good and bad deals out there.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

          • I've been browsing for some time and its great, getting some good tips for my machine, its a 89 Argo Magnum 8X8 with the kohler 18 hp twin. I bought it about 3 years ago, needed some work, but over time got it running good. My daughters have fun on the lake in the winter doing donuts. I use my machine mostly for the winter fish and fall deer hunt, I do get out sometimes with the boys, but they run atvs and can't go everywhere I can!

I own a 1995 maxII great little workhorse. I use it mostly for hunting, here in Wisconsin, it sure takes the work out of getting your deer out.

                • Hi Guys,
Thanks for allowing an Aussie to join your Forum, I don't have an ATV but am visiting the US in June and was looking to pick a small one up and shipping home to have some fun with. Live near teh beach so want an Amphib, any thoughts on a suitable one to purchase?

                          • I just picked up a 1968 Jiger Versatrek Twin Six fairly complete but not running. Found this site and the Jiger site, but still need more inforfamtion. The Hirth 82R engine pulls over and has spark but has the intake coming straight up then has 2 small chainsaw looking carbs with no air filter. Also missing the Hirth recoil. WOuld love to see more pics of these areas closeups etc so I can see if i have the original carbs/ parts. Also missing the inner axle conversion hubs that allow the newer 8" ATV rims to fit. Cant wait to get this thing running!!!

                            Appreciate anyones help with this.

                            • Welcome to the site everyone! Good find on those Jigers. Here is a template that you can use to convert the 3 lug hubs to modern 8" ATV rims.

Here is a free template that will enable you to make your own three lug to five lug adapters. This will allow you to use newer five lug wheels with the old 6x6 ATV three lug axles

                              • Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum. I have an Argo Bigfoot which I am the original owner of. I use it several times a week for anything ranging from fishing to going to the store. It has been a very reliable machine for me. My left rear axle has started to leak which probably needs a new seal. Also I'm tired of draining my oil out the bottom and am looking for a pump to drain through the dipstick. Went to auto part store and had no luck so thought I would search this forum. Done a few searches so far with no luck. Maybe I'll get some feed back on what I'm sure has been in several threads.
