  • Stryker and Randy, welcome to the site.

Stryker, I'm glad you made it over from youtube. Good luck with your rebuild.

Randy, you may want to post your question in the Argo forum so that you get a proper response. Not as many people check this "introduction" thread.

    • Welcome and I must warn you, gentlemen that AATVs are very addicting and there is a strong possibility that once you get one, more are very likely to follow you home.

                    • First timer writing on this site. I purchased a 6x6 Bigfoot and have done several mechanical and cosmetic improvements. I have it running very sweet. It has the 25" Rawhide III wheels and I'd like to invest in the 22" wheels and tracks so that I can ride over serious mud. I"ve also added a 3,000lb. winch, re-upholstered the seats and cleaned it up nicely. It even has speakers for an MP3 player. If anyone has any 13" tracks for sale, I'm very interested. Contact me at miami123@bellsouth.net.
This website has provided lots of important information thus far. Keep on mudding!

                          • Hi all! I just got on board yesterday. I do not own a 6X6 yet. I have been doing some research and I am really pumped about getting started. I have spent many years on motorcycles and boats and really only got strated looking for a 6X6 for ice fishing here in waterford, Michigan. The more I see, the more I see I have been missing. I am in the process of buying a 1975 Sierra Trail Boss. The motor has been bored and sleeved with some new electrical compoents. The frame, axles, & tires are in great shape. The plastic is pristine except for some drilled holes for moutning custom racks and things to the machine. The guy added chain tensioners to avoid chain slap from the extra speed of the bored motor. It is a Kohler 301, two-stroke. It starts right up and appears to function well. I have not been able to get it off the ground to check axles & bearings for tightness. The current price we are talking is $1,200. Does anyone know if this sounds reasonable? From the looks of these things, it appears you can either buy or fabricate almost anything to keep them running. Am I wrong?

                            • welcome to the site Rooster529. from the sounds of it that would be a really good deal for that trail boss I have never riden one but I have heard they are a pretty good machine. and yes most of the stuff on these machines can be fabricated (depends on how well you can fabricate stuff they are fairly simple machines) and someparts can be found at your local hardware store and you can always ask on the site and someone would probably have the part or help you track one down.

                              • Well, guess I'm part of the AATV crowd now too. Just picked up a 1982 Max II with tracks, serial #9182. Seems like it's going to be alot of fun. Needs some basic maintenance and some work here and there, so I'm hoping to find the info I need here. Been building rock crawlers for years, so looking forward to a new challenge.
