New Member, New to me Max II, *Greetings*
Hello All!
I'm new to the aatv world and just bought my first max II. Pretty basic machine, 14hp vanguard, roll bar, windshield, canvas top and windows. I've had a little fun around our farm with it, but before I get too crazy I need to do the usual maintenance associated with buying a used vehicle. It looks to be pretty well taken care of and doesn't show signs of abuse, all of wich I intend to change lol. This thing is a blast! Glad to have found this forum, I have litereally spent hours pouring over the information here.
I'm in Michigan, not too far from the Lansing area. I've already had the pleasure of mesaging with another local member here Jim the "buggyman". I hope to get together with him in the near future to check out some misc. parts he has, and learn a few things about my new toy!
Great forum you guys have here!

Hello to All,
I have joined this AATV world recently with the purchase of a Max II. Actually my wife is trying to revive her love of the Banana Splits so when she saw it she had to have it.
We are near Austin, Texas and have had limited time to use the machine. Not long after we got it the driven clutch pully came of the T20 input shaft. Not much damage but that got me ito cleaning the years of grime out of the machine (about 1993 vintage?).
Hopefully someone here on some thread has provided information on how to move and steer these things when they have no power, no winch on front. I got it home but could see where it could cause difficulty if you can not access the trailer hitch on the rear as a pull point, or actually had to make turns before you get to the trailer. So far all I can figure is you drag it the direction you want it to go and with enough force it will rotate around.
Anyway, I will be looking for information and help with ideas on updates/upgrades; after I basically replace the chains, sprockets and any other drive items that have not been maintained well. It will be a fun adventure for me, I love the absence of electrical components!

Hi Russell, welcome to the site. With no power, if you put it in neutral, you can usually push the front of back of the machine to the side a little to get it to slide over. Then you can continue to push it straight. It is, of course, easier with more than one person but if you have to, you can get it to turn by yourself. I hope you have fun with your Max once it's back together.
