  • Hi Al, welcome to the site. For your technical question try starting a new thread in the engine forum as this is just mainly an introduction thread. Also, be sure to check out the manuals that we have on the front page of the site.

I am excited to learn about the "new Argo". I used to own a Conquest in 2000 and have been using ATV's for the past few years. I have a keen interest in the AATV world. I am planning on purchasing a new machine soon. I love all the info RockDoctor has shared.

I am an active hunter, Northern BC and live in Vancouver.

My Family owned an Amphicat in the seventies and I never forgot the great times we had with it. After years of driving 4x4 vehicles, riding street motorcycles and now dualsport bikes I finally got myself a 2010 Argo 6x6. It came with supertracks and a motor mount, and a winch. I now have my fishing boat, snowmobile, and a utv. I,m a retired machinist and have just moved to a small town just outside of Vancouver so I'll be in the woods more than in civilization. I like this forum because of the help passed on and just the great comraderie.

      • Another new guy here, next weekend i'll be getting an early 80's 8x8, needs some rear tub repair, it has new brakes, new chains and new tires, I already have a 90's sprint engine to drop into it, Just have to find a bit more information on the swap. I plan on some home made tracks, cabin heater, some sort of a canopy cover, lights etc. Not sure how long it will take to build, i'll get pics up when it arrives. I'm pretty excited to get this project going, and i'm greatful for any and all tips and info from the senior members on the site
        cheers

          • Soon to be owner of a almost free Max II. Just have to go pick up at uncles in Minnesota... Ugh 11 hours but can't beat the price! I have been reading the threads for about 3 weeks and can't wait to get it. Condition is pretty good with no major issues. Just sitting here drinking a beer trying to find the time to go.

              • Hello from Alaska, own a 2000 MAX IV and use it for fall moose hunting. The Max is great maching and moves through water and mud very good. The narrow stance allows us to follow 4 wheeler trails that other machines are required to cut there way through.

                More pics to follow.

Don't be shy, tell us a little about yourself. Do you own an amphibious atv? If so, what kind. Where do you live, etc?

We look forward to meeting you.

                            • Hello My name is Lisa Young, and I'm from Union, Iowa. My dad was the owner of ROYCO swampfoxes. He retired from that I think when I turned 1 or 2. which would have been 76 or 77. I may be able to answer questions about swampfoxes that we made. My dad is still living and is interested in how people are liking the swampfoxes. I know they were fun to ride in, didn't get a chance to drive 1 (that I remember). This is a cool site.

                                Hello Lisa:
Welcome to the sight. I am the proud owner of a Super Swamp Fox. I really like the machine and its large size fits me well. Of all my amphibs its the easiest to service as everything is fairly easy to get to. I converted mine to diesel power and put a set of Adair tracks on it. Its nearly unstoppable.
I know another person bought the rights to the machine and have produced vehicles off and on over the years. Can you tell us about the sale of the company? Also I'd like to hear from your dad about various drivetrains and two speed and hydraulic transmissions.
There are several Swamp Foxes out there, and several are well documented in the photo section in this forum.
