Congrats on the twins. Keep them both if you're not in deep, makes for nice family fun, or let your buddy drive one. He'll want it and you could go out together.
Drain the fluids, change the filters, check the bearings, lube everything and go.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.

Hi guys, will be officially joining the forums shortly, this weekend I’m out to pick up my fist 6x6, A 1980’s Action age Scrambler. I had a few hopefully quick questions before I make the plunge. I know the Transmissions in these are not up to snuff with the other guys, and the guy I am buying from says there is slip on steep hills. He also said the spindles need some TLC, but besides that it has a new 420cc motor, new belts, and new tires. I also asked if it floats and it says it’s perfectly water ready. From the pics it looks to be in pretty good shape and fully functional.
SO my questions are:
1.Is there any way to get slip out of the clutch or should I just be thankful it works in the first place?
2.If I take it slow will the axles be of usable strength or are they just junk on these scramblers?
Welcome allwheeldrive, the slip could be a little as a belt adjustment or major as having the drive discs relined. The axles will be fine ,if it is early with the friction discs on the axles at the sprockets they could be pinned/bolted. If the wheel adapters are just flat plates you may/will loose some of the small studs (atleast I did regularly).

You may consider passing on this one and looking for a Max,Argo,Hustler,They would all be a better choice, and far superior(reliable) to the Scrambler.I have had a Scrambler in the past and it was ok for around the yard trips, but if you get more agressive on tires the dry clutches will cause problems, also you dont really have a frame inside a Scrambler, these were fairly heavy made but it is possible to get anything without a frame in a twist and cause chain problems. Hi, I'm from central mass.. I've been riding four wheelers for years and now I've advanced in a new line of tracked atvs..something I could use year round. I purchased my first argo a few months ago, a2001conquest, I've added a few accesories to it and now I'm looking for others to ride with, preferably in central mass area. I also have a few questions pertaining to the argo concerning the chain drive adjustment system. If there's anyone out there, let me know...Tom

Hello all, My name is Mike. I live in Talkeetna, Alaska. I recently purchased a 2014 Max IV with the 29 horse Kohler and tracks. I have been wanting one for about 10 years and figured I better get one now or I might never do it. I have only had it out a few times and have been very impressed. I am still breaking in the engine and control links so it is still a little stiff, but it sure crawls over pretty much anything I point it at. I cannot wait to get out in the swampy stuff and try it out.
