  • Chris and John, welcome to the site!

John, you are close enough that you could make some of our rides with your Max II. You should join us sometime at either Busco Beach in Goldsboro, NC or Carolina Adventure World in Winnsboro, SC.

Chris, no worries on the pictures. You can move them yourself by clicking on "photo options" "move/delete" and then scroll down to choose a new category. I also clean up the gallery once a night so I may get to them before you do.

Again, welcome to the both of you!

          • Welcome to the site!

moose man, you may want to start a new thread in the transmission forum to get some detailed information on your clutches. If you can post pictures that always helps too.

John, congratulations on your Attex! It's always nice to find out the machine actually looks better than the pictures. That's rare. It's usually the other way around.

Shawn, congratulations on the chaparral. That should be a good project. I really like the looks of those bodies. Post up some pictures if you have any.

            • Hi All,
I'm from Australia and have found the site while looking for info on an old Argo that I was given not running. The local Argo agent here in Australia has told me than my serial number pre dates his records and the Argo must have been privately imported and may be the oldest old over here. I hoping to find some more info on it. I have started restoring it doing the chassis and all the axles chains and sprockets. Just the motor trans and seats to go.

              • Hey racer2304, welcome to the site. Sounds like you have a cool Argo. If you want to find the exact year you can call or email Argo with the serial number and they will help you out. Post up some pictures if you have some.

                • My name's Jonathan, I'm 20, and live in Franklin NC. I've had my Max IV since I was 7 years old my dad bought it for me new in 1997. Also owned dirt bikes and 4 wheelers but always drove the max the most. It always held more appeal to me since I was the only person I knew of that had one, and I like being different. Recently started working on modifying it to be a little more usefull and capable so I'm sure I'll have alot of questions. Thanks in advance.

                      • Hi, I've got a 1999 Argo Conquest.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if Argo is going to get to someone produce 22X10X8 tires to replace the runnamucks. Would be nice if they had a little more depth to the tread.
What else is there, any ideas.

It looks like what you have there is a Lockley Wrangler. They were made by Lockley Manufacturing for only a couple years in the early 70's. Here are a few other threads about them.

Welcome to the site. If you post your question in the argo section you may get a better response. (get it, response) Sorry for dumb joke.
