  • Hi Al, like southpaw suggested, if you will start another thread in the Hustler forum you will get some technical responses there. Welcome to the site.

Same to you mudmudboy, welcome to the site and congratulations on your Frontier. It sounds like you'll be using it for work and play. Post up some picture in the gallery if you get a chance.

      • Hi Flupdog1, welcome to the site. Use the search feature in the Max and the transmission forums and you should be able to find it again or you can just browse those two forums. You can also start a new thread in the Max forum if you like and someone will help you there. Again, welcome to the site.

          • Hey Patrick, welcome to the site. Look around the hustler forum. There is a thread there showing the differences between the different models. That should help some. You may also want to start a new thread there in that forum with any other questions. That should be a fun project. Keep us updated on your progress.

              • Hi Russ, welcome to the site. If you will use the search function of the site in the forum called "Other AATVs" you will find a few threads on the swamp fox. There are also one or two brochures on the home page here: Swamp Fox Brochures

Finally, there are a few members that have posted some pictures of their Swamp Fox in the gallery if you want to see how yours looks in comparison to theirs. Again, welcome to the site and congratulations on your swamp fox.

                      • Hi, I've been watching this site for a while and decided to join now that I own an aatv.
not sure what year it is, but I bought an old argo 8x8 from a friend two weeks ago.
It ran great, he rebuilt the tecumseh oh160 motor and installed a new carb and starter.
other than that it was a mess. I rewired it and am converting it to hydraulic brakes.
I've replaced all the bearings and shaft seals. If anyone is interested I found bearings for around $7.00 each (ebay)
got the shaft seals, axle pins, misc. mechanical parts from McMaster Carr.
The axle shafts were chewed up from the bad bearings and seals so I welded in the low spots and turned them
back down on my lathe. I'm almost finnished with it.
Does anyone know what drive belt fits this thing, I don't have one to measure or get part numbers from.

                          • Hi Folks, New to the site, though a few years back I checked out the site looking for info on, of all things, a PUG. Yeah, a PUG. That ride that was built in Bruce, WI. Since that time I have rebuilt the trans/axle and replaced the Tecumshe engine with a Honda. Right now it is configured into a fire brush rig for an environmental company that does prescribed burns and brush clearing. It has been working out pretty good for those duties. I actually got the PUG from a buddy of mine that had two of them from his father-in-laws tree farm in northern WI. He asked and I said sure. Figured it was a neat little rig that my son could use on his 5 acres of heaven. That's it for now.
                            Stay safe.

                            • Thunderdunker, beuneek, and Fat Fireman, welcome to the site.

beuneek, try posting a new thread in the Argo forum for help finding your belt size. You will probably have to find out what year it is via the serial number so that someone can help you. Or you can always measure the distance between the two clutches along with their diameter and figure the belt length yourself. Look in the transmission forum as there are a couple of threads on how to do that.

Leo, it sounds like you put some work into that Pug. If you have some pictures of it upload them to the gallery so we can see your handywork.

                              • First time post,
Wanted to say hello and thank you for all the info I found on this site.
We have got an attex 225? Or something. I was told it is a 69-70.
Had a terra tiger years ago. Looking forward to fun again.
                                Anyone in Minnesota?
                                Thanks.
