Hi everyone, Im Ryan from Maine. A friend of mine has his grandfather's ~1970 action age scrambler Marc XII sitting behind his garage torn apart. He is moving, and is giving it away. I checked it out yesterday, and I'm picking it up in about an hour. It's dirty and faded, needs lots of cleaning. No tires, needs chains and clutch pads, and the motor (11 hp Tecumseh?) needs a new stator. He had it moving about 3 years ago, then the chains broke and he parked it. After he tore it apart, he didn't have the time or money to fix, so it's been sitting since. Looks like it's going to be one of those "free" projects that is going to cost to get it going again. I have no experience with these things, but I'm willing to do the work. And fortunately this forum seems to have the knowledge base and manuals I will probably need to bring this thing back to life.

Welcome to the forums everyone.
montaque, congratulations on picking up your Argo. It sounds like it suits your needs well.
jleamer, glad you were able to make it to the races this year.
Ryan, free is always a good place to start and with the willingness to do the work yourself, you should be able to get your Scrambler up and running.

They are steel tub. the first is a 6x6 has a 17hp kholer, three speed stick with reverse a full windshield lights bumbpers and a winch. the other is the same but is missing the engine and trans. it was liquid cooled and the cab has a heater. I have read several threads about these units but the info is limited i need a new belt for the pri/sec. Got anything?

Hello everyone! I work for a small company and am in charge of equipment maintenance, which includes a 2008 argo avenger (8x8). This is my first experience with an argo, and so far I'm happy with their performance! I've already customized my company's machine to fit our specialized needs, and I look forward to getting new ideas from the argo world!

Don't be shy, tell us a little about yourself. Do you own an amphibious atv? If so, what kind. Where do you live, etc?
We look forward to meeting you.

Welcome to the forum bgdrr1,
It sounds like you did alright for your first machine. The belt and a few bearings is no big deal. Call Buffalo Bearings and they will get you the right bearings. You want them with an r3 code for the triple seals. Tires and wheels are the biggest cost, so if you are good there, everything else takes relatively little money, just some good old elbow grease. Post pics in the gallery when you get a chance too.l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

Good day all,
Hawksmore here, I live in Reno Nevada. There are a alot of miles of dirt out here. My home is about five miles from one of the areas best rock crawling areas. Moon Rocks. And we are about an hour from the Black Rock Desert. I am a professonal Falconer. We use falcons Hawks Eagles and Owls to remove pest birds from runways, wine grapes, landfills etc... I have a Rhino, and a Honda Grizzly Quad. We use the Rhino and the Quad almost daily in our work carrying the falcons to the field for work. I have been interested in the 6X6 world and finially found a Attex Chief basket case. The JLO motor runs but is way to noisy for me. The tub is in ok condition and the chain drive and berings are shot. The transmission looks ok and seemed to operate until I threw a chain in the first five minutes. I plan on replacing the two stroke with a four and going with newer axles and bearings. The tires are shot also.
i have been scouring this site for part numbers and sources for the needed parts but no luck. Any help out there ??
I would be happy to trade off the JLO. Any takers ?
Thanks in advance for any help and for the great site !
